Who We Are
Once upon a time, there were two dedicated educators with great love and enthusiasm, who set out to enrich the charming town of Binningen, nestled in the equally lovely canton of Basel-Land, with a haven for children, both big and small. Andrea and Antje, as our fearless heroines were named, spared no effort or expense in turning their ideas into reality, creating an institution that would become known far beyond the borders of Binningen as the KiTa Schatzinsel.

Of course, their extensive professional experience in caring for our little ones worked to their advantage. They had spent many years as educators, pursuing further training, earning diplomas, and even gaining valuable practical knowledge abroad. ... although our journey in founding the KiTa Schatzinsel may not have been quite as magical as a fairy tale, today we are a well-coordinated team of educators, caregivers, apprentices and interns, who run a bilingual (English-German) daycare center in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, providing care for children from 3 months old until they enter school.
We focus on both the educational work with the individual child as well as the child as a group member. It is our aim to enable families or individuals with children to work or to stay in work. For your convenience we have also set up a lunch table including a pick-up service for children from the Bruderholz Kindergarten.
Our ambition is to create a place for children that offers security and at the same time a high degree of pedagogical quality. A place to feel good, to retreat and an environment where children can turn their ideas and needs into action. The KiTa Schatzinsel views itself mainly as a companion in the development of the child.
